The external environment is not in anyone’s control, therefore consequences have to borne by the victims in the path. This time Ola and Uber drivers are facing this kind of problem against Mumbai’s city taxi scheme.
About 300 Ola and Uber’s drivers have put their hopes on state BJP president Raosaheb Danve’s support for their opposition to provisions of the City Taxi Scheme 2017 which curbed the surge-pricing to provide fair competition for all types of taxis along with fixation of minimum and maximum fares.
Various topics such as price of cab permits, limiting operations of cabs to within city limits, ban on diesel engines and conversion to CNG were discussed in a meeting between Danve and drivers.
The drivers are not willing to paint their vehicle to a different colour as they are the owners of the cars. Also, they are quite unsettled with the demand to convert their cars to CNG as the supply is low throughout the state.
