Radio taxi service Meru Cabs has added three new categories as an addition – hatchback, sedan & SUV as separate services.
The new categories are priced at a base rate of Rs 49 and rs 9/km, Rs 79 and then rs 10/km and a base rate of Rs 149 and rs 15/km thereafter.
With this launch, Meru comes close toOla and Uber which operate their lowest category at a base rate of Rs 45 and Rs 8/km thereafter.
However Meru is the only major player in the taxi service industry not charging travellers ‘surge price & this makes it a key differentiator.
2000 new cabs have been added on the platform for the new categories by Meru and is looking to host a 10,000 strong fleet in 6 months by signing up with cab new owners & adding 2000 – 3000 cabs every month.
