American cult bike manufacturer ‘Harley-Davidson’ plans to open its skills centre, which it calls the ‘Harley-Davidson University’, in India to train its employees and dealership staff.
-
Currently, the US-based firm has three such universities in the Asia pacific region and the fourth has been planned in India.
-
Employees and dealership staff will be benefitted a lot by this university since they will be educated about the company and its products in a more detailed way.
-
In–depth knowledge about the brand and its product will thus help them to cater to their customer needs in a more effective manner.
-
The university will offer both technical and non-technical training to its employees and dealership staff from across the country.
-
The company has currently planned to expand its dealer presence in India and reach out to more customers that are not accessible to the brand.
-
There is a large distance between the dealerships, so they have a mobile truck which is basically a mobile store which they take to remote locations and engage people to interact with the brand.
-
They are also encouraging their dealers to come up with various initiatives and ideas to make the brand more visible to people.
The company is also taking efforts to bring more products into the market for existing customers and also for new potential customers.
