GOOGLE TO LAUNCH SMARTWATCHES IN 2017

  • Google to launch two smart watches early 2017.
  • Smart Watches to be powered by Android Wear 2.0
  • No Google or Pixel branding on the smart watches & will instead carry the OEM branding.
  • Both smart watches expected to come in different sizes, one with LTE-enabled & the other without LTE, targeting both genders.
  • New features along with stand alone apps that will no longer require a connected smart phone to operate are expected.
  • Hardware dependent features, like Android Pay, will be made available for the supported phones.
  • Support for Google Play & Google Voice Assistant
  • Motorola, LG & Samsung among the top contenders to make the smart watch.
  • Not all the existing smart watches to be upgraded to Android Wear 2.0.
