Google has launched a new app called Areo, allowing users to order meals from nearby restaurants or schedule appointments with local service professionals, including electricians, painters, cleaners, plumbers, & more.

Users can search for dishes or restaurants, even filter by vegetarian option or book appointment times with local pros. & pay via card, net banking or cash on delivery.

With Areo, Google is acting as the middleman i.e. not running its own food delivery or home services business, but rather working with service providers in the area.

It has Freshmenu, Box8 & Fassos as food partners, & UrbanClap & Zimmber for home services.

Currently, partners are not charged for the service as it is still at an experimental stage.

Amazon also operates a home services business allowing customers to search & book with area pros for things like home theater installation, home improvement, assembly, house cleaning, lawn care, and more.
