Amway re-routes its retail business with plans to open 50 stores by 2018

  • Any Brand which flashes when you hear “Direct Marketing”. None other than AMWAY which created the new milestones in reaching to the customers.
  • Amway India is building its strategy and planning for the strong comeback with 50 brick and mortar stores apart from online and direct channel as part of its global business model by investing Rs. 1,000 crore.
  • Direct sales, however, will continue to remain the primary mode of operations in the country. According to DOUG DeVos, “We are, and will remain, a direct selling company with direct sellers as the key point of distribution. But visibility and easy access are important components of our growth strategy… we’ve lined up a number of initiatives to spur growth in India,”
  • The direct selling industry could touch Rs 64,500 crore by 2025, up from the current Rs 8,000 crore, according to a forecast by Ficci-KPMG.
  • Amway always known for the “Network marketing”, creating agents on commission to sell its products among the target audience.
  • It uses intensive distribution strategy so vigorously that customer not only getting the product at every nook and corner but at every home.
  • DeVos said Amway’s India growth strategy for 2017 and beyond will involve four components — a new customer programe where customers can buy products directly from the company online, express stores, an expanded product portfolio that will include consumer durable and energy drinks, and technology and training. Distributors will continue to remain at the core of Amway’s business even at the retail stores.
