Many new entrants tap ecommerce companies for market research as ecommerce platforms provide specific insights that these new entrants might be lacking.
iVooMi, Chinese smartphone maker, and Flipkart have been working together to understand the sales of smartphones in rural market in India.
The company, along with internal marketing research and Flipkart’s data points, is able to build a smartphone priced below Rs.10000 with all the consumer expected smartphone features.
The smartphones are targeted to rural India at tier-II and tier-III towns, launching with two entry-level smartphones, in the third week of July 2017.
Currently, iVooMi manufactures smartphones in China based on sales in India, and are planning to open R&D office in Tharwani by 2018. And also the company may sell its phone in tier-IV cities if everything goes well.
